Yesterday a co-worker of mine loan me a book by Octavia E. Butler. I have never heard of this author but she is known for her Sci-Fi writings. I started reading it while standing on the platform waiting for the train yesterday. I got so caught up in it that I missed my stopped. I got on the wrong train to start. I should have taken the local but I boarded the express.. by the time I realized I was on the wrong train it was flying pass my stop...lol.... I got off at the very next top thanks goodness it didnt put me too far out of my way...

On to the book... If you are into Sci-fi this book is a must read.... not to give away too much but the main character Doro has special powers..he can read minds, shape shift and move in and out of a person body and take them over... he is trying to create a race of people like him self... now there are some that have powers also but not as strong a he is.... and his quest is to breed a race of superior powers.... however he is going to meet up with an obstacle his daughter will be the one to challenge him...... ok let me stop... no more information. Get it and read it

Does She Really Need 7 More?

Ok! now I have been hearing about this woman giving birth to octuplets. I never really followed the story just hearing bits and pieces of it on the news. This morning I logged into my AOl to read my messages and there is a article where she was interviewed by Ann Curry for "Today" tv show.

Now don't get me wrong, I am all for procreating as long as you can support them. How in world can a person make a decision to have so many kids and be unemployed? Who in the world is going to take care of those children? Why did the doctor implants so many embryos? Didn't they know that she was single and unemployed. By the way, how did she pay for the implants?

Being the only child, depressed and longing for a large family is no excuse to have so many kids. This just creates a dysfunctional family..... Is she capable mentally of taking care of these kids and giving them the love and support mentally that they need? Doesn't seem like it to me if she is battling her own demon of depression.

She already has 7 kids.. How in the world can she say she is lonely? I would think that the kids would be fulfilling her life to the max....

If she has back problems, How in the world did she carry all those babies? If you have been pregnant you know the feeling.


I dont know about this one. There should be some kind of law in regards to this type of thing.

If she is unable to take care of those kids. She will turn to the government and the tax payers will be the one to foot the bill...or is she going to the easy route and gambling on some type of television or book deal like some of the other....

Small Blessings

I started this blog today so I can share my thoughts and journey down the road of life. Sometimes I have comments, opinions or what ever to share but don't want to share face to face with a live person... The is my outlet to let it out.....

Before going to bed last night I have a ritual of praying and reading. There is no way I can have a peaceful nite sleep if I dont spend some time in the present of the Lord. it clears my mine, renew my thoughts and gives me a peaceful nights sleep.

God is good. This morning my daughter told me she needed a new pair of sneakers because her toes are touching the top of the olds one. Now, I knew eventually she was going to need a new pair but I was holding out because she is no longer in the kiddy section where the sneakers are under $50.00. For her size the sneaker are the same price as the adults.

I thought about and decided that on Saturday we would go and get her a pair. I was hoping she would lean towards the converse since they are more reasonably priced.

When I got to work and started checking my e-mails. Wow! what did I come across in my e-mail a 30% off coupon for friends and family day at foot locker. I have several e-mail addresses but some I dont bother to check because I know there is probably nothing but junk mail to sort through. I happen to check this one today. I had over 500 unread e-mails. but Praise the lord I checked it.... I am so grateful ... These are some of the small things that God does in my life. He meets my every need everyday.

So for today I say Thank you lord for all that you have done, all that you are doing and all that you are going do.....
